Use this checklist to verify frame, module, cable and grounding compatibility before ordering shielded or modular patch panels, and to record port maps and test results.

Why assembly, not catalogue, decides the order

A patch panel is rarely a single item on a bill of materials. A loaded shielded panel arrives ready to terminate; a blank frame depends on keystone modules you may source separately. The parts must agree on category, shielding and physical fit, and the installation must keep the shield path continuous. This guide turns that into a short checklist you can run at quotation stage and again on delivery.

The ranges referenced here are from Cixi Qixiang Telecommunication Equipments Co., Ltd. and are used as examples of each format. Where third-party sources are cited, their claims are attributed to them, not presented as our test results.

Step 1: Fix the connection plan before the hardware

Count active and spare copper links per cabinet, not just ports per U. Note how each cable will approach the rear: horizontally, from above, or from a side tray. Then answer these questions:

Recording the answers now prevents mixed-category or mixed-shielding assemblies later.

Step 2: Choose the format that matches assembly ability

FormatExample modelKey point for buyers
Loaded shielded 24-port, 1UQXPP-3018 / Cat6A90-degree layout; shielded module decisions already made
Loaded unshielded modular 24-port, 1UQXPP-3001 / Cat6Removable modules; confirm module category matches cable
Blank 24-port, 1UQXPP-3029-24PUnloaded; you specify and supply every keystone module
Loaded shielded 48-port, 1UQXPP-3009Higher density; 90-degree arrangement
Angled blank 24-port, 1UQXPP-3033-24PAngled; STP/UTP option must be confirmed against modules
Compact shielded 12-port, 10 inch, 0.5UQXPP-3047C6ANarrow racks; verify rail spacing before ordering

Loaded formats reduce assembly steps but lock in the module choice. Blank and angled frames give freedom but shift the compatibility burden onto your module supplier. For a side-by-side view of the two approaches, see the existing guide on panelcabling.cn covering Loaded or blank patch panels?

Step 3: Verified compatibility checks

  1. Rack width and height. A 19-inch 1U frame will not fit a 10-inch rack; a 0.5U compact panel frees half a unit but needs matching rails. Measure rather than assume.
  2. Module-to-frame fit. For QXPP-3029-24P and QXPP-3033-24P, confirm the shutter or keystone module specification with the supplier before ordering, including whether the frame accepts the module depth you intend to use.
  3. Category consistency. Keep cable, module, panel family and patch cords in the same category. Mixing categories across a link is a design choice, not an accident to discover at test time.
  4. Shielding and continuity. On STP panels, confirm how the module contacts the frame and how the frame will be bonded to the rack or earthing bar. Ask for the manufacturer's own documentation for the specific model rather than assuming.
  5. Cable support. The blank 24-port frame is listed with rear cable management; check whether that provision matches the cable diameter and bend radius you are installing.

Step 4: Site-specific fit checks

Confirm cabinet depth, door clearance and cable routing on both sides of the panel. An angled frame changes the patch-cord routing at the front; rear cable access and support must be checked separately against the actual design. Confirm label space and numbering so ports remain identifiable during testing and later changes.

Step 5: Order and delivery documents

Step 6: Receiving and pre-installation checks

  1. Count units and ports against the order documents.
  2. Inspect for transport damage to frames, modules and any rear cable management.
  3. Trial-fit one module or jack in a sample port before building the full panel.
  4. Record serial or batch references on the acceptance sheet where available.

For broader planning around density and access, read the 48-port shielded panel page alongside the density guide, and check the compact format at the 10-inch 12-port shielded panel page where rack space is limited.

What not to assume

Do not infer certifications, test values or installation guarantees from a product family listing. Request current model documentation and the evidence needed for the specific project. An unrelated manufacturer announcement does not establish this supplier's product performance.

Run these six steps in order, and re-check steps 3 and 5 when anything in the bill of materials changes. A written connection plan plus a compatibility checklist is more useful at procurement time than a brochure of port counts.
